April 2013 - Carb Crazy
What is a carb? According to the general public, media, untrained physicians and
any author who wants to make money with a diet book, carbs are foods made from
grains like bread, pasta and rice.
This is simply not true. Carb is short for carbohydrate and
carbohydrates include not just grain foods but also all fruits and all
vegetables. This category also includes sugars but believe it or not,
they’re not a food group.
So the next time you mean a grain, call it a “grain” instead of “carb.”

This usually occurs as a result of disease or injury. Most types of dementia are non-reversible. Alzheimer’s is the most common type.
Dementia can be due to mini strokes and may be prevented by quitting smoking, controlling blood sugars and blood pressure, eating a low fat diet and exercising regularly.
